Why Artistry Floors
Builder-grade standards, brought to your house
When you install floors for homebuilders, the tolerances are written down and somebody inspects them. That habit does not switch off when we walk into a remodel.
Subfloor prep to builder spec
Slab moisture testing, grinding and self-levelling to the flatness tolerance the manufacturer actually requires — not the one that fits the schedule.
Crews that hold a schedule
Building production work means sequencing around other trades and finishing on the day we said. Your remodel gets the same discipline.
One owner, accountable
Owner-involved on every project — the job is walked before, during and at hand-off. When something needs correcting, you talk to the person who can decide.
Material sourced at volume
Builder relationships with mills and distributors mean better pricing and shorter lead times than a one-off retail order.

Questions
Whole-home flooring, answered
The questions we get asked most at the estimate.
Do you take on whole-home flooring projects?
Whole-home and multi-room work is what we are built for. A typical Artistry Floors project is a new build, a full remodel, or three or more rooms replaced at once — anywhere from a single level to an entire 4,000 sq ft home.
Running the whole floor as one project is also how you get a floor that looks right: consistent run direction, continuous boards through openings, no transition strips stranded in the middle of a hallway, and one dye lot across every room.
How long does a whole-home flooring installation take?
For a 2,000–3,000 sq ft home, luxury vinyl plank usually runs 1–2 working days, engineered or prefinished hardwood 1–3 days, and large-format tile 2–5 days depending on layout and pattern.
Site-finished hardwood and dustless refinishing take longer because of coating and cure time — plan on 3–5 days, with light foot traffic after 24–48 hours and furniture back about a week after the final coat. We give you a day-by-day schedule at the estimate rather than a vague window.
Do you work with homebuilders and on new construction?
Yes. A large share of our volume is residential new construction for DFW homebuilders, and that work sets the standard for everything else we do — slab moisture testing, documented flatness tolerances, acclimation logs, and crews that hold a construction schedule without pushing the trades behind them.
We also take on commercial interiors: offices, clinics, retail build-outs and multi-unit projects across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
Do we need to move out while the floors are installed?
Most families stay. We phase the work so you always have a bedroom, a bathroom and a path to the kitchen, and we seal off work zones with plastic and negative-air dust containment.
The exception is site-finished hardwood and refinishing, where the finish is curing. For those we recommend being out of the house for 2–3 nights, and we schedule that window with you well in advance.
What does whole-home flooring cost in McKinney?
Installed cost depends far more on material and subfloor condition than on square footage alone, so we do not quote from a phone call. What we can tell you is what drives the number: material grade, whether the slab needs grinding or self-levelling, stair and transition counts, and how much existing flooring has to come out.
The estimate is free and itemised, so you can see exactly where the money is going and adjust material without redoing the whole quote.
