Grayson County, Texas
Flooring in Sherman, TX
Sherman is the fastest-changing market we work in. The semiconductor investment north of town has brought a wave of new housing, while the older neighbourhoods around downtown still hold original hardwood worth saving.
About 35 minutes north of our McKinney shop, straight up US-75.
What we see in Sherman
A new-build boom on top of a century-old town
Sherman has had a genuine housing surge, driven by the large semiconductor manufacturing investment north of the city and the employment that comes with it. New subdivisions off US-75 and around the edges of town are current-spec slab-on-grade construction, and they take the same approach as new build anywhere in North Texas: engineered wide-plank or rigid-core LVP, large-format porcelain in wet areas, and the slab flattened to the manufacturer tolerance before anything is laid.
The older parts of Sherman are a different job. The neighbourhoods around the downtown square and the historic district include a lot of early-1900s frame housing on pier-and-beam, much of it with original oak or pine underneath later coverings. That is refinishing work, and it wants a contractor who will check joists and deflection before quoting a sand.
One honest note about geography: Sherman is Grayson County, not the DFW metroplex proper. It is 35 minutes up US-75 from our shop, which makes it closer to us than Fort Worth is — so it gets McKinney-style scheduling rather than end-of-the-territory treatment.
How we work here
What Sherman projects usually need
New-construction packages
Flooring for the Grayson County build-out, sequenced around the build schedule with documented slab moisture and flatness.
Historic refinishing
Original oak and pine near the square, assessed for subfloor condition before a sander touches it.
Relocation timelines
Employment-driven moves come with hard dates. Give us the closing date and we build the schedule backwards from it.
Whole-home LVP and tile
Waterproof plank and large-format porcelain for family homes, installed on properly prepared slab.

All six services, across Sherman
Most whole-home projects use more than one material. We install every surface, so transitions line up and one contractor stands behind the whole floor.
Questions
Sherman flooring questions
Is Sherman actually in your service area?
Yes. Sherman is Grayson County rather than the DFW metroplex, but it is 35 minutes straight up US-75 from our McKinney shop — closer to us than most of Tarrant County.
Pricing is the same as everywhere else we work. There is no travel charge on a Sherman job.
We are relocating for work and need floors done before we move in. Is that possible?
It is the easiest version of this job, and much preferable to installing around furniture and a family. An empty house means faster work, better results and no living around a schedule.
Tell us the closing or move-in date at the estimate and we will work backwards from it. The constraint is usually material lead time — in-stock LVP and carpet can start within about two weeks, special-order hardwood or tile three to six.
Do you handle flooring for whole new subdivisions?
Yes — residential new construction for builders is a core part of our business. We run multiple crews in parallel, sequence around framing, paint and trim, and hand over slab moisture and flatness documentation.
